Feed the Hungry
Because everyone deserves a meal.
We started with just 50 meals, and today we’re providing around 300 meals each week. It’s a small beginning, but one that continues to grow.
Through Feed the Hungry, Regal Hearts Organization is working to reach more people facing food insecurity, with a current goal of providing 1,000 meals every week. Our vision is simple: to feed as many people as we can and keep expanding wherever there is a need.
Why We Started Feed the Hungry
Hunger does not always look the way we imagine it.
A person experiencing homelessness may not have a place to cook. A family working hard to make ends meet may still struggle to afford enough groceries. A senior living on a limited income may have to make difficult choices between food and other basic needs. A newcomer starting over in a new community may need some support while finding their footing.
Behind every situation is a person who deserves to be treated with kindness and dignity.
We started Feed the Hungry because we believe no one should have to face hunger alone. We want to do what we can with the resources we have—and as we grow, we want to be able to do more.
What We Do
Feed the Hungry provides practical food support based on the needs of the people and communities we serve.
Hot, Fresh Meals
We prepare and provide hot, fresh meals for people who may not have reliable access to regular food or cooking facilities, including people experiencing homelessness.
A warm meal can provide more than nourishment. It can bring comfort, connection, and the simple feeling that someone cares.
Food Packages
We also provide food packages to individuals and families who are struggling with food insecurity.
For some households, a food package can help stretch a limited food budget and provide support during a difficult time.
Community Food Support
Our food-support efforts can also reach seniors, newcomers, and others experiencing food insecurity.
We believe support should be offered without judgment. Everyone’s circumstances are different, and sometimes a little help at the right time can make a meaningful difference.
From 50 Meals to 300
Feed the Hungry began with something simple: help the people we could reach with the resources we had.
We started with 50 meals.
Today, we’re providing around 300 meals each week.
That growth means a great deal to us. Every increase represents more meals prepared, more people reached, and more opportunities to let someone know that their community cares.
But we don’t want to stop at 300.
Our Goal: 1,000 Meals Every Week
Our current goal is to provide 1,000 meals every week.
And even 1,000 won’t be the finish line.
Our goal is to keep feeding as many people as we possibly can and continue expanding Feed the Hungry as our resources, volunteers, partnerships, and community support grow.
We want to respond when we see a need—not only in one neighbourhood or one city, but wherever Regal Hearts Organization has the opportunity and capacity to help.
When a Meal Becomes a Treat
Some of the most meaningful moments in this work cannot be measured in numbers.
They happen when someone receives a meal and says:
“It’s not a meal, it’s a treat.”
Those words stay with us.
Behind every meal are hours of planning, shopping, preparing, cooking, packing, organizing, and delivering. There are volunteers giving their time and supporters helping make it possible for food to reach someone who needs it.
So when we hear that a meal felt like a treat, it makes all the hard work worth it.
What may seem like an ordinary meal to one person can be something very special to another.
That is why we don’t want to simply count meals.
We want every meal to count.
Where We Are Today
Our work is currently rooted in Edmonton, where we are serving approximately 60–100 people, depending on available donations and resources.
But Feed the Hungry is not meant to remain limited to one city.
Edmonton is where this work is growing today. Our vision is to continue building the project and, as we have the capacity to do so, expand into more communities across Alberta and eventually beyond.
We want to grow responsibly while keeping the quality, dignity, and care behind every meal at the heart of what we do.
It Takes a Community
Feed the Hungry is not something one organization can accomplish alone.
It takes people who care.
It takes volunteers who give their time. It takes donors who help provide the resources needed to purchase food and prepare meals. It takes community members who share our work and help us reach people who may need support.
Every contribution helps us move closer to our goal.
Whether someone gives their time, makes a gift, shares our work, or connects us with people who need support, they become part of something bigger than a single meal.
How You Can Help
There are many ways to be part of Feed the Hungry.
Gift Now
Your gift can help us purchase food, prepare meals, create food packages, and reach more people facing food insecurity.
Every gift helps us move closer to 1,000 meals a week.
Volunteer
Our volunteers are essential to making this project possible. From preparing and packing food to helping with distribution and organizing, every helping hand matters.
Spread the Word
Sometimes helping starts by simply telling someone about the work.
Share Feed the Hungry with your family, friends, workplace, church, community group, or anyone who believes that people should not have to go hungry.
Looking Ahead
We know we still have work to do.
Starting with 50 meals and reaching around 300 meals each week has shown us what is possible when people come together.
Now we’re working toward 1,000 meals every week.
And after that, we want to keep going.
Our dream is not simply to reach a number. It is to reach more people.
More meals. More communities. More families supported. More people reminded that they have not been forgotten.
Our goal is simple:
Feed as many people as we can.
Grow as much as we can.
Help wherever there is a need.
Be Part of Feed the Hungry
You don’t have to solve hunger everywhere to make a difference.
Sometimes, it starts with one meal.
One meal can fill an empty stomach.
One meal can bring comfort.
One meal can remind someone that they matter.
And when a community comes together, one meal can become hundreds—and hundreds can become thousands.
Join Regal Hearts Organization as we work toward our goal of 1,000 meals every week and continue growing Feed the Hungry to reach as many people as we can.
